چکیده

This study aimed to reveal the interactions of aphids with their primary hosts (pome and stone fruit trees) secondary (herbaceous plants) in around orchards Çanakkale Province northwestern Turkey between April-September from 2020 2021. Thirty-eight aphid species belonging 18 genera two subfamilies, Aphidinae Calaphidinae, Aphididae order Hemiptera were identified on 53 host plants. Also, 92 aphid-primary-secondary plant interactions, including several new records for some revealed orchards. Of these hosts, Ballota sp. (Lamiaceae), Carduus pycnocephalus L. (Asteraceae), Conyza Diplotaxis (Brassicaceae), Echium plantagineum (Boraginaceae), Galium (Rubiaceae), Geranium columbinum (Geraniaceae), Papaver rhoeas (Papaveraceae), Ranunculus muricatus (Ranunculaceae) Scandix pecten-veneris (Apiaceae) are determined as plants Turkey. It is believed that data will support both a better understanding biology pest development strategies control pests.

Ecology and radiation of galling aphids (Tamalia; Hemiptera: Aphididae) on their host plants (Ericaceae)

At least two species of aphid, Tamalia coweni and Tamalia dicksoni (Hemiptera: Aphididae) induce galls on the leaves of Arctostaphylos spp. shrubs (Ericaceae). These galls are frequently inhabited by at least one species of congeneric inquiline. The inquiline clade has branched off from the gall-inducing clade and appears to be radiating rapidly on different host-plants, in contrast to the gall...

Aphids (Hemiptera, Aphididae) on ornamental plants in greenhouses in Bulgaria

Investigations on the species composition and host range of aphids on ornamental greenhouse plants in Bulgaria was conducted over a period of five years, from 2008 to 2012. Twenty greenhouses, growing ornamentals for landscaping, plant collections and other purposes were observed. They were located in the regions of Sofia, Plovdiv, Smolyan, Pavlikeni, Varna and Burgas. The total number of colle...

Population fluctuation and faunal indices of aphids (Hemiptera, Aphididae) in peach orchards in Araucária, PR.

Aphids are sap-sucking insects that mainly attack shoots and young leaves of peach trees and many other plant species; however, knowledge of the Brazilian aphid fauna is scant. The objective of this study was to identify aphid species collected in peach orchards (Prunus persica Batsch) and to determine their faunal indices for occurrence and dominance. The experiment was conducted from July 200...

Macroevolutionary Patterns in the Aphidini Aphids (Hemiptera: Aphididae): Diversification, Host Association, and Biogeographic Origins

BACKGROUND Due to its biogeographic origins and rapid diversification, understanding the tribe Aphidini is key to understanding aphid evolution. Major questions about aphid evolution include origins of host alternation as well as age and patterns of diversification in relation to host plants. To address these questions, we reconstructed the phylogeny of the Aphidini which contains Aphis, the mo...

Species identification of aphids (Insecta: Hemiptera: Aphididae) through DNA barcodes.

A 658-bp fragment of mitochondrial DNA from the 5' region of the mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase 1 (COI) gene has been adopted as the standard DNA barcode region for animal life. In this study, we test its effectiveness in the discrimination of over 300 species of aphids from more than 130 genera. Most (96%) species were well differentiated, and sequence variation within species was low, ave...
